Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Carshalton

Man with Van Carshalton is committed to conducting business in a responsible, transparent, and ethical manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and throughout our supply chains. It applies to all workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged in providing services or goods to our business.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners. Any evidence or suspicion of modern slavery in connection with our business will be treated with the utmost seriousness and may result in the termination of contracts or business relationships, alongside reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

All staff are required to act with integrity, follow our policies, and raise concerns where they believe modern slavery may be occurring. We are committed to ensuring that people who speak up in good faith are protected from victimisation or retaliation.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Carshalton provides transport and moving services, including domestic and commercial removals and associated logistics. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and a small number of subcontracted drivers and labour providers.

We recognise that some sectors involved in logistics and temporary labour can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation. As such, we focus our efforts on understanding and managing these risks through due diligence and ongoing engagement with our suppliers.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors who uphold fundamental human rights and comply with applicable labour laws. Our supplier expectations include:

Compliance with all laws relating to employment, wages, working hours, and health and safety. Prohibition of forced, bonded, trafficked, or involuntary labour of any kind. No use of child labour and adherence to minimum working age regulations. Fair and transparent recruitment practices that do not involve worker-paid recruitment fees or confiscation of identification documents.

We undertake proportionate due diligence on new suppliers and higher risk partners. This may involve risk-based audits, review of policies and documentation, discussion of working practices, and follow-up requests for clarification where concerns arise. We reserve the right to conduct site visits where appropriate, and we expect suppliers to cooperate fully with any audit processes.

Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels

We promote awareness of modern slavery risks among our management team, drivers, and operational staff. This includes guidance on identifying signs of exploitation and how to escalate concerns safely. We encourage all workers to remain vigilant, particularly where subcontracted labour or third-party services are involved at customer premises or warehouses.

Concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices can be reported internally to management or through existing incident reporting routes. Individuals may raise concerns anonymously if they wish. All reports will be treated confidentially, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. No individual will suffer detrimental treatment as a result of reporting a concern in good faith.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to strengthening our approach by improving our due diligence, training, and supplier engagement over time. This statement and the underlying procedures are reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure they remain effective and reflect changes in our business operations or risk profile.

As part of the annual review, we assess any incidents raised, audit findings, changes in legislation, and feedback from staff and suppliers. Where necessary, we update our policies, contracts, and training materials and communicate these updates to relevant stakeholders.

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Carshalton and will be published and made available to staff, customers, and suppliers. We remain fully committed to playing our part in preventing modern slavery and promoting fair and ethical treatment of all workers connected to our business.
